Jamie Foxx Declares ‘God is Good’ Amid Recovery Process

By Movieguide® Contributor

Actor Jamie Foxx shared a health update on Instagram, posting some outdoor pictures and sharing the progress of his recovery.

“You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself,” Foxx shared on Instagram. “It’s been an unexpected dark journey…but I can see the light.”

“I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers… I have a lot of people to thank…u just don’t know how much it meant…I will be thanking all of you personally…and if you didn’t know…GOD IS GOOD…all day every day,” he continued.

The post marks Foxx’s second update on his health since being hospitalized for an undisclosed medical complication in April.

While the family has asked for thoughts and prayers throughout the health scare, the specifics of Foxx’s condition have been kept secret – something that Foxx has been thankful for.

MSN reports that Foxx also addressed rumors that his health scare left him paralyzed:

“As you can see, the eyes are working, the eyes are working just fine,” he said. “I’m not paralyzed, but…I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I’m coming back and I’m able to work.”

Jamie Foxx directly addressed fans for the first time since his health scare in April, explaining that he didn’t want fans to worry about the state that he was in.

“I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back,” Foxx explained on Instagram. “I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through.”

“Thank u a billion to everybody…been a long road but all the prayers, great people and God got me through,” he wrote in the caption.

The actor explained that he kept his fans in the dark about his condition because he “didn’t want them to see [him] like that.”
