Chris Tomlin Celebrates 3 Years of No. 1 Hits

As Christ Tomlin’s “Holy Forever” reaches six weeks as a No. 1 single, the singer hits an incredible milestone by holding the No. 1 position on a radio chart for three years.
“I have had the great honor of receiving many awards and accolades, commemorating different achievements throughout my career…But today is different,” Tomlin said during a celebration event. “As we sit here celebrating this remarkable milestone, it is not lost on me that to have this kind of longevity and impact is directly attributed to a long-term partnership with the same record label, Capitol Christian Music Group.”
“So while today is intended to celebrate 21 #1 songs…I wanted to take the moment and put the spotlight on this 20+ year partnership with Capitol, the entire team, and each person who has made all this possible,” he continued.
Time Magazine called Tomlin the “most often sung artist in the world” due to the powerful Christian songs he has produced over the years. His number-one hits include worship staples like “Good Good Father,” “At The Cross (Love Ran Red),” “Whom Shall I Fear” and “How Great Is Our God.”
Despite his success in the industry, Tomlin doesn’t take his career for granted, especially because it was rare to hear Christian music on the radio when he started.
“I really don’t know what to say right now…I remember over 20 years ago being told that radio wouldn’t play worship music,” he told Billboard. “So, to fast forward to today and not only have anther number one radio song but to have the ongoing opportunity to help give people a voice to worship God though radio, through streaming, through live events, and through songs being led in the church… is something I will never take for granted.”
“I could never have imagined the doors and opportunities God would open up and I am so excited, and expectant for what’s to come next,” Tomlin continued. “Thank you radio for all you have done and all you continue to do.”

“Holy Forever” has remained popular since it was released last Fall. It has since topped 4.5 million streams on Spotify and has been sung by churches across the world every week.
“Song are like arrows out of the bow… reaching places far beyond what I would imagine,” Tomlin said. “I definitely feel that Holy Forever is one of those arrows. It’s an honor to be a part of a song like this… that reminds us all of the greater story… the song of heaven! I love hearing how this song is finding its way among gatherings large and small around the world.”
This year’s Good Friday Nashville continued to bring hope to the Nashville area for the seventh consecutive year. This year’s concert included special guests Jenn and Brian Johnson, along with Blessing Offor, CeCe Winans, and the Tennessee State University choir. Pastor Max Lucado also delivered an Easter message.
