NEEDTOBREATHE’s New Song Focuses on Family: ‘Love, Loss and Realization’

NEEDTOBREATHE just released their ninth studio album, “Caves,” with a twist—the 22-year-old rock Christian band features country music artist Carly Pearce in their song “Fall on Me.”

The music video for the song came out on Wednesday.

“In the song’s music video, premiered exclusively with PEOPLE, the Grammy-nominated rock band and Pearce take viewers on a journey through love, loss, and realization through carefully curated visuals of an individual longing for quality time with his daughter and father,” PEOPLE reported.

The video depicts a family’s supportive relationships through three generations.

“This song and video are about the relationships in our lives that we depend and lean on when things feel scary or new,” NEEDTOBREATHE shared with PEOPLE. “Life is tough but it’s comforting to know you are surrounded by people who love you and have your back.”

Lead singer Bear Rinehart shared that the band realized the need for female vocals once they created the song. After they listened to a lot of singers, Pearce became the natural choice.

Rinehart told Music Mayhem, “We’re like, who has the right tone for it? And Carly’s name came up and we found out that she was a big fan, which we didn’t know beforehand, so that turned out to be really easy and sweet and yeah, we’re really proud of it.”

Pearce posted on Instagram, “Years ago I bought a ticket and went by myself to see @needtobreathe live because I was such a fan. It is such an honor that they asked me to be on a song with them.”

The band echoed gratitude and similar sentiments on their Instagram page.

Movieguide® previously reported about Carrie Underwood’s collaboration with Rinehart on one of her songs:

For “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus,” Bear Rinehart from NEEDTOBREATHE joins Underwood to bring a rock-inspired sound to the hymn. Gospel icon CeCe Winans also teamed with Underwood on “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”

Movieguide® previously reported on NEEDTOBREATHE’s Seth Bolt welcoming his first child:

NEEDTOBREATHE’s Seth Bolt and wife Tori just welcomed their first baby, daughter Amma Grace Bolt.

“Giving birth to Amma was the most surreal, transformative experience I have ever lived and unlike anything I ever imagined,” Tori told PEOPLE. “Passionate about having an unmedicated, natural birth, I spent the last nine months training my body and, more importantly, my mind, for the occasion.”

Amma was born August 19 in Nashville, Tennessee.

“After she arrived, our new family of three shared an intimate moment seated on the floor in the corner of that dimly lit room, sitting in silence and awe of this new life,” Seth said. “It was a sacred moment that will forever be imprinted in our memory.
