Candace Cameron Bure Calls FULL HOUSE Cast ‘Literally Family’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Candace Cameron Bure called her FULL HOUSE cast members “family” in a recent interview, sharing how they stay close and reflecting on the impact of former co-star Bob Saget’s death.

“We’re all close friends. We keep in contact, like, constantly. I always just get amused when [the media calls] them reunions because I’m like, ‘We’re literally family hanging out,'” she explained. “But sometimes we do that publicly.”

Bure expressed how she and the rest of the cast miss Saget. He died on Jan. 9, 2022, at the age of 65.

“It’s always going to be a special but hard day in our lives,” Bure continued. “We’re always going to honor Bob for the rest of our lives and probably together and probably publicly because we love him so much and want to keep his memory alive. We’re family through and through.”

In honor of Saget, the FULL HOUSE cast members got together on a group call earlier this month. The call included John Stamos, Jodi Sweetin, Dave Coulier, Andrea Barber and Bure.

“I just saw one of those little birds a couple of days ago,” Bure shared with the group. “There was so many on the day he died a couple years ago that were in my yard. The birds just reminded me of him in spirit, saying like ‘I’m here, and I love you,’ and it was just like ‘Okay I see you, Bob.’”

“Look what Bob gave us, he gave us this,” Coulier said, referring to the deep friendship among the costars. “He gave us this moment right here. Always keep that person alive somehow, and that’s what we’re doing, and I think, through grief, that’s a really important thing to remember, is to keep them alive just by talking about them and celebrating them and remembering them in a way that they would want you to.”

“I miss you always,” Bure posted on the anniversary of Saget’s death. “I could use one of your hugs right now.”

Movieguide® previously reported:

Bob Saget’s friends and family are remembering the comedian two years after his tragic death.

“2 years. Wow. Simultaneously feels like a week and an eternity,” his widow, Kelly Rizzo, wrote in an Instagram post. “I chose this photo of Bob as not only was it the last photo he shared and one of the last texts he sent me, but it perfectly encapsulates how he would want all of us to remember him. With his guitar, on a stage, doing what he loved to do…making people laugh…making people happy.”

She continued, “I will forever be grateful that I got to share life with this extraordinary person for 6 years. What a blessing. And grateful I can look back on endless memories and photos and videos with smiles, laughter, and yes…still tears. It is such a gift I was able to know his complete and all encompassing love and heart.”

“It was just all love,” Rizzo said of their marriage during a 2022 appearance on the TODAY show.
