- Content: Danny Gokey Wants the ‘Flame of Liberty’ to Blaze All Year

Danny Gokey is reminding his followers about the true meaning of the 4th of July.
“BE BRAVE!!!” he posted on Instagram, along with a lyric video for his song “Brave.”
Gokey continued, “The 4th of July is about a LOT more than just a day to celebrate with cookouts & fireworks. It’s about recognizing & standing up for the freedoms we’ve been afforded BECAUSE of this day! Don’t let fear make you back down. Keep that flame of liberty ablaze ALL year long!”
The singer-songwriter frequently shares his patriotism through his music — specifically, in the 2023 EP, Brave. The project included two original songs, “Brave” and “My America,” along with a cover of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.”
“I still believe in America,” Gokey said of the EP. “We’re not perfect — we’ve made our mistakes. But I still believe that God has used, and will continue to use, America to do great things. Rather than argue about our differences we can choose to agree on our one major common denominator — freedom. And freedom is worth celebrating.”
He continued, “As Christians, our aim should be to have a positive influence on everything and everyone, including our country. It may not always seem like it, but God is in control, and has a purpose for America, and my hope is for people to find the courage to stand firm in and up for that! It’s not just ‘my’ America, ‘their’ or ‘your’ America. It’s ‘our’ America and I believe that we can still make an impact, if we are united!”

Three-time Grammy nominee Danny Gokey loves his country, and in his new EP “Brave,” he shows fans just how much.
“It is OK to love your country,” Gokey told CBN’s Faithwire. “As a matter of fact, you probably should love your country. Otherwise, your country won’t be very strong if the people don’t love it.”
“There’s never been a country like us — and probably will never be like a country like us,” he added. “So, I wanted to just point people to the hope of our country, to the bravery of our country, to the goodness of the land.”
Gokey is currently preparing for the release of his latest album, Sound of Heaven.
“The phrase ‘Sound of Heaven,’ and each of the songs on this album, will mean different things to different people in different places of life, and I believe that each of these songs communicates the hopeful messages of heaven in ways that will speak to people — whatever their season of life,” he said in a statement about the album.
Gokey continued, “In whatever walk of life or profession; whatever nation, tribe or tongue, we all make up the sound of heaven if we’re following Jesus. My prayer is that each of these songs meets each person right where they are and helps them experience the ‘s of heaven’ in a fresh new way, in just the way they need it!”
Sound of Heaven debuts July 26.
