Is SUPERMAN Star Henry Cavill Joining the MCU?

DC Studios cut SUPERMAN star Henry Cavill from the DC Universe in 2022, but the actor is now rumored to be attached to a MCU project as a main role.
The actor is supposedly being tapped to star as Richard Rider in a MCU TV show about the Nova Corps, an intergalactic police force. Rider has superhuman abilities such as flight and strength. Cavill previously had a starring role in the DCU, playing Superman from 2013 until 2022. Though, as the DCU looks to restart, he has now been replaced. Cavill has actually appeared in the MCU before, making a brief cameo in last year’s DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE as an alternative Wolverine.
The validity of this prediction is somewhat questionable as Marvel Television recently put NOVA on pause along with two other TV shows as the studio refocuses itself. NOVA, however, was the furthest show along and already had former CRIMINAL MINDS producer Ed Bernero on board as a writer and showrunner. The pause on production comes after Marvel announced it would be slowing production to focus on quality over quantity.

“We’re developing more than we make right now, so we actually have a few different things brewing that we might see through at least to a pilot script to see if we want to make it,” Marvel Studios’ head of TV, streaming and animation Brad Winderbaum told Screen Rant last August. “But there’s a lot of opportunity out there, it’s hard to choose favorites…We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next.”
Nonetheless, Cavill isn’t the first actor to consider switching from one superhero universe to the other. Now that James Gunn has stepped into the role as the DCU architect, some actors that he worked with in the MCU, particularly on the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY franchise, have expressed their interest in continuing their work with him.
