ALL CREATURES GREAT & SMALL has been renewed for a sixth season, and the cast can’t wait for you to see their hard work come to life on screen.
“I’m posting this again for clicks. Because we’ve started Series Six. Although my tweets are rarer now, Concerning horse and sheep and cow, I’ll do my best and try to post, Some stuff to keep you all engrossed,” Samuel West, who plays Siegfried Farnon, posted on X earlier this year.
His X updates on the show have been nonexistent since then — until last week.
“I’ve been remiss with BTS pics this series; forgive me,” he wrote on June 25 accompanied by photos of the cast and crew. “It’s been a very busy one. Here are some #ACGAS images I’m allowed to share from Series Six.”

ALL CREATURES GREAT & SMALL follows “James Herriot, fresh out of Glasgow Veterinary College, [as he] pursues his dream to become a vet in the Yorkshire Dales. He discovers that treating the animals is as much about treating their owners, and the Dales’ farmers are a tough to please.”
The show is based off of the books by James Alfred Wight, who used the pen name James Herriot. PBS renewed ALL CREATURES for Seasons 5 and 6 in 2024.

“I really hope there’s some fun to be had for James and Helen, they’ve had such a stressful time of late and I hope now that James is home that they can enjoy family time and make space for a bit of fun,” actress Rachel Shenton, who plays Helen Harriot, said of what she hopes to see in Season 6. “They’re both good at that.”
Nicholas Ralph (James Harriot) said that he hopes his character “grows into himself personally, professionally.” He added, “my hope for him is to continue that building of the foundations on which to raise his family.” He also hinted that James and Helen could have more children in the future.
West, on the other hand, hopes his character will find love. “I think he deserves it, and you’d see things coming out of him that you won’t see otherwise,” he said.
Callum Woodhouse (Tristan Farnon) said that he wants “Tristan to carry on exactly how he is — holding on to his spirit and his energy, but carrying on at times, pulling his socks up and getting his head down and focusing when something needs to be done.”
Season 5 released in the US earlier this year, but a release date for Season 6 has not yet been announced.
