Forrest Frank just release another new single: “Selah.”
Frank dropped “Selah” on Aug. 8, just a few hours after his show at the fully-booked Iowa State Fair concert, which he performed at despite breaking his back a few weeks prior, The Christian Beat reported on Aug. 8.
Two weeks ago, he released “God’s Got My Back,” which had 2 million worldwide streams in just one week. It now has over 5.5 million global streams.
A few days later, Frank released “Lemonade” in a collab with The Figs. It has over 3 million worldwide streams and went No. 1 on iTunes overall genre and Christian Songs Charts.
All of these songs were inspired by Frank’s injury, which he got while skateboarding with his young son in their front driveway. He documented writing and singing the songs while he was on bedrest, which gathered over 42 million views combined.
Frank was miraculously healed just two weeks after his injury. The doctors had said it would take much longer for him to heal.
“Chat did we just witness a miracle happen or do i have the fastest bones OF ALL TIME 😂” Frank wrote in an Instagram post explaining his healing, adding that he realized he was okay when he picked up his son without wearing his back brace.
“I’m pretty much convinced God would’ve healed me day 1 from all these prayers, but He wanted these songs & this testimony come to life,” he said. “Regardless, i’m here for it all…ruined for the ordinary. THANK YOU JESUS 🎉”
Some of the lyrics from “Selah” read:
It ain’t all ’bout what you sing, it’s the moments in between
Sometimes you got to selah (Selah, yeah)
Don’t speak for a minute
Close your eyes, let it be and selah (Selah, yeah)
Frank is the first-ever faith-based artist in the history of the Iowa State Fair to be fully booked. He played to a huge crowd of 15,804.
Christian rapper Lecrae opened for the artist and played for 45 minutes before Frank came on stage.
“I know it’s a lot of jumping around, but I want y’all to know tonight is all about one name. It’s not my name, it’s Jesus Christ.” Frank said. “With everything I have in me, I’m going to praise with every cell and fiber of my body, and I’ll ask that you would do the same.”
The stadium hummed with thousands of worshippers, and Frank jumped around on the stage, proving that his back was all right.
