Fathom Entertainment will re-release the Neal McDonough-led movie GUNS & MOSES due to popular demand.

“From the start, GUNS & MOSES has broken every rule: a ripped-from-the-headlines edge-of-your-seat mystery thriller with traditional values that appeals to Christians and Jews, conservatives and liberals, old and young,” said director Salvador Litvak in a press release.

The film is based on the true story of the 2019 shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue in Poway, California.

“At a time when too many people are turning against the Jews, rebranding old-fashioned antisemitism as ‘anti-Zionism,’ Jews are grateful to have allies,” the movie’s website said about its relevance today. “Evangelical Christians in particular stand strong with the Jewish people and Israel. They visit the Holy Land, donate to Jewish and Israeli charitable organizations, and many of them practice Jewish traditions and observe Jewish holidays.”

The press release noted that GUNS & MOSES received at excellent Rotten Tomato score of 96% following its initial July 18 release.

“Despite our limited marketing budget, we rose above the summer noise with terrific word-of-mouth buzz and now, thanks to Fathom Entertainment, we can finally answer the question we keep hearing from our audience, ‘Why isn’t GUNS & MOSES playing at a theater near me?!’” Litvak continued. “This re-release gives our film the nationwide theatrical footprint it deserves and matches us with the ideal partner to meet strong fan demand and secure new audiences for an important and timely movie.”

“GUNS & MOSES is a terrific film and a noteworthy project for Fathom Entertainment to take on, with a riveting story that warrants a special re-release,” Fathom Entertainment CEO Ray Nutt added. “Fathom’s unparalleled strength in driving theatrical awareness and generating audience engagement are best deployed with bold and daring titles such as GUNS & MOSES.”

GUNS & MOSES will return to theaters Sept. 7-11 at select theaters across the United States.

Movieguide®’s review reads, “GUNS & MOSES tells an entertaining story packed with serious drama and intrigue. The movie stresses strong biblical, moral values. Mo fights for justice and works for good to overcome evil. He also represents a strong father and husband and stands for integrity.”

The review notes notes, “The movie shows him praying and declaring the greatness of the Lord, but from a Jewish perspective.”

Due to strong action violence, Movieguide® advises caution for older children and teenagers.
