NBA star Jonathan Isaac wants to motivate athletes to keep proclaiming Christ as a pair of his faith-forward sneakers just scored a display at the Museum of the Bible.

“Thank you’s all around to my family and the Unitus team, but first and foremost to Jesus! None of this exists if He doesn’t first give Himself for me and all of us!” Isaac wrote on Instagram. “This is just the beginning!! Can’t wait until the Judah 2 drop coming soon.”

The display, which features a photo of Isaac and a pair of shoes, reads, in part, “The Judah 1 shoe line was the first NBA shoe to be worn with Scripture manufactured visibly on it.”

The verse featured on the shoe is Proverbs 28:1, which reads: “The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”

“It’s so much wrapped into one,” the Orlando Magic forward told The Christian Post of his shoe being displayed at the museum. “It’s legacy, it’s the goodness of God.”

“You know, if Jesus doesn’t come back anytime soon, then my kids and my kids’ kids will always be able to come to the Museum of the Bible and remember their grandpa, great grandpa, and say, ‘Hey, our grandpa did something for the honor and the glory of God, not for himself, and that’s why it’s in the Museum of the Bible,'” he added.

The shoes are being displayed as part of the museum’s “Impact of the Bible” exhibit, which highlights “the enormous influence the Bible has on nearly every aspect of life.”

Isaac founded UNITUS in 2023, “a Christian footwear and apparel brand designed to help believers stay connected to Christ.”

“It’s also about loving people well. It’s not about just trying to, you know, shove God down everybody’s throat,” he said about his brand.

“It’s about just being authentically you, being gracious, loving other people. But when the moment comes that you are at odds with the culture or what other people think, I think we have a responsibility to stand with Christ,” he added. “And I’ve seen that God will not let you go.”

Isaac has several different shoes on his website, each one highlighting a Bible verse.

“Calling all Proverbs 31 women! This one’s for you,” UNITUS wrote in a post on Instagram. “The Fortra ‘Virtue’ is a pink sneaker with purpose — a reminder that your worth is found in Christ.”

The shoe is based on Proverbs 31:30, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”

While Isaac is honored by the display, he even more grateful for the legacy of faith he’s building, both through his brand and outspoken commitment to Christ.
