While many women feel as if they “have to be all things to all people,” worship artist Natalie Grant knows there’s another way to look at how you relate to others.

“Just a trait in women is that we naturally are all things to all people. We just are. We’re the glue, right? I mean, we’re glue. You don’t have to be married. You don’t have to be a mom if you’re watching; if you’re a woman, you’re the glue for somebody somewhere. You’re holding it together,” Grant told TBN.

“That’s a part of the fabric of who [God’s] made us to be,” she continued. “But then that gets twisted, because we think we have to be all things to all people. And just in my experience, it’s a pressure we put on ourselves, but it’s also just in this whole conversation, it just comes down to the heart. Like even the wooing spirit, that idea that you want to be all things to all people, because you want…to feel needed.”

“I feel like this is going to be such a freeing conversation. I can just sense it right now for some women who are like, ‘Oh yeah, I don’t have to do that.’ You don’t because it will suffocate you eventually,” she concluded.

Grant just announced that she’s starting a “new chapter” in her musical career: she signed with Capitol CMG and came out with a new Christmas album to celebrate.

According to The Christian Beat, Grant recorded the album alongside her husband Bernie Herms, who’s a Grammy Award-winning composer and producer.

The album, titled Christmas, returns to beloved classics.

“From the gospel-soaked swell of ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ to the Ella Fitzgerald-inspired swing of ‘Jingle Bells,’ Natalie Grant breathes fresh life into familiar favorites,” the outlet said. “The album also introduces two originals: the sweeping, six-minute ballad ‘God’s Gift’ and the playful ‘Christmas Looks Good on You,’ inspired by family traditions in the Grant-Herms household.”

“It’s been 20 years since my last Christmas album, and making another one has been a dream in my heart for so long,” said Grant. “Christmas is my favorite time of year, and I set out to create something timeless – full of nostalgia, warmth, and a few new songs that could stand beside the classics. I’m beyond excited to be partnering with Capitol CMG for the first time. Their passion and vision for this project made them the perfect home and the timing couldn’t be better. This is a partnership that just makes sense on so many levels, and I’m truly excited about what the future holds together.”

She’s also prepping for her 10th annual “Celebrate Christmas Tour” with Danny Gokey, kicking off on Dec. 4 in Tampa, Florida.

Whether releasing new music or going on tour, Grant knows her identity is secure in who God made her to be — not in who she thinks she needs to be for other people.
