Danica McKellar is sharing her excitement for upcoming holiday movie HAVE WE MET THIS THIS CHRISTMAS?
“When you are shooting your 12th (!) Christmas movie….but this time, you wrote it!” she captioned an Instagram video.
McKellar’s caption reads, “Had to jump on this adorable trend… So cute! And yes [Christmas] movies share similar themes – because they are so heartwarming and fun to watch! Also, it’s great to give them a bit of a new spin…which you’ll see in HAVE WE MET THIS CHRISTMAS? Dec 13th on @greatamericanfamily!”

“It tells a story of a second chance at love…made possible only after a car accident leaves my character with no memory that she vowed never to speak to her ex (played by @jesse_hutch) again..” the actress teased.
McKellar’s co-star, Jesse Hutch, also shared some photos from the movie’s set, writing, “Get excited! I genuinely think you will all really enjoy this one.”

HAVE WE MET THIS CHRISTMAS?, which McKellar wrote with Riley Weston, is part of the collaborative spirit at Great American Family.
“Ever since I’ve been with Great American Family, it’s been like this collaborative experience where I do get to write some scripts, which has been amazing,” the actress told Woman’s World.
McKellar, who has starred in many Christmas projects, shared her theory behind the holiday movie genre’s popularity in an interview with Fox News.
“People need comfort [and an] escape from this crazy world,” the WONDER YEARS actress explained. “More than an escape, it provides a reminder of what human nature can be. We need that. We need that reminder. We need, yes, the feeling of comfort, but also ideas for how to move forward in a wholesome, earnest kind of way.”
McKellar shared that Christmas movies, while not “truly dramatic” show characters struggling with real-life issues and “trying to make good choices along the way.”
“So that’s what we can model for people in the midst of just giving them, yes, comfort food around the holiday season, which it’s important to feel those warm and fuzzy feelings around the holidays,” she concluded.
HAVE WE MET THIS CHRISTMAS? premieres December 13 on Great American Family.
