More than lighting up TV screens or getting awards, actress Jen Lilley wants to help others know Jesus.
“I really want to equip people to actually encounter Jesus,” said Lilley, who recently wrote a devotional, Wake Up Your Faith.
“I relate to Elijah the most in the Bible, and he was pretty bold,” she said. “So I’m like, ‘Do you need me to be more like an Esther? If so, could You just put a muzzle on my mouth, Lord? – because I’m not very good at being covert.’”
“I’ve always been pretty bold,” the Teddy Bear Award® winner told Crosswalk Headlines. “My nickname in elementary school and high school was Jen for Jesus.”

Lilley has starred in DAYS OF OUR LIVES and lots of holiday movies, including PARIS CHRISTMAS WALTZ, ROYALLY WRAPPED FOR CHRISTMAS and more. But more than acting, her faith is what’s important.
“I could talk about Jesus all day long,” Lilley told Crosswalk Headlines in July.
She was inspired by the book of James. The devotional takes readers through each month of the year, each with a different theme.
“And James says: ‘Faith without works is dead. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works,’” she said. “Doing faith in action is just a byproduct of loving the Lord.”
“If you really love the Lord, then you are His hands and feet. You are a righteous tree. You are going to produce the fruit of the Spirit, because it’s a natural byproduct of being a righteous tree,” she said.
She previously shared that she came to know Jesus at a young age and has been on fire for Him ever since.
“I would go down in this basement, sit in this black chair with my little crayon and, every time I read a line, I would highlight it so that was like my bookmark of where I had read,” she told CBN.
“I love the Holy Spirit. I know that He is still active today. You know, I’ve seen God heal, I’ve seen miracles. I’ve seen cancer disappear; I’ve seen people get out of wheelchairs,” she said.
Every morning, Lilley prays and reads the Bible. She knows that when she asks God for understanding, he will give it to her.
Lilley’s latest project is A CHRISMYSTERY, which is currently available on Apple TV, iTunes and Fandango at Home.
