DUCK DYNASTY’s Korie Robertson shared that Al and Lisa Robertson, her brother-in-law and his wife, have a movie on the way that will share their testimonies and reveal how God has moved throughout their lives.
“We are in talks about a movie about y’all’s life story. And I’m really excited about that. And, of course, I know y’all’s life story and I’ve lived a lot of it,” Korie said. “And I’m so grateful to have gotten to live a lot of it. And to see the impact of y’all’s life on us…just the impact of y’all’s life and your marriage and the impact that had on Willie and our marriage.”

Al and Lisa are open about the struggles they’ve faced in their marriage. After Lisa had an affair, the couple worked to restore their marriage with God’s help.
“Now, married for over thirty years, they openly share their hardships—including sexual abuse, alcohol abuse, and abortion as they counsel couples in trouble and speak across the country at churches, marriage retreats, pregnancy centers, many other events,” their website says.
The couple no doubt was inspired to let their story be told on the big screen after the success of THE BLIND, which told the story of the complete transformation of Al’s dad Phil Robertson’s heart. A portion of Movieguide®’s review of THE BLIND reads:
In some ways THE BLIND is a very good movie as a testimony. That said, its construction doesn’t follow all the rules of filmmaking, so it may not win a big audience. The movie is propelled by the jeopardy, and vice and drinking, while narration tells us where it’s going, and flashbacks show where it started. Even so, it could be a good testimony for many people. However, THE BLIND is definitely a rough movie, and MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution, especially for children and young teenagers.
When THE BLIND was in theaters, it inspired many people, and lots of stories were relayed back to the Robertson family. Al previously shared how the movie personally affected him as he reflected on how his dad’s turn to Christ led to him knowing the Lord as well.
“The scenes that really impacted me more — and now especially that I’ve seen it a few times — were the scenes of grace, especially the church opening up for us [and] all the people that were there to provide a pathway for Mom and Dad,” he shared. “Those are the things now that made me cry because I realized that through all the difficulty, God had people there ready to help us when we needed to be helped.”
Al and Lisa’s story will surely have a similar impact as the couple reveals why they have felt called evangelism and sharing the gospel with as many people as possible.
While the family has released little details about this project, it will likely be created through the Robertson family’s production company, Tread Lively, giving Al and Lisa full creative control over how their story is told.
