Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt celebrates Thanksgiving her own special way.
“I feel like I shouldn’t say this, because it’s, like, just so controversial to say that I don’t like Thanksgiving food,” she revealed on THE JENNIFER HUDSON SHOW. “And my brother Patrick gets the most upset about it, because I used to always make sure that I had like something there that I like. So, I went through years of having enchiladas, and he’s like, this doesn’t go this does not match Thanksgiving. What are you doing? You’re ruining it.”
Then her husband, actor Chris Pratt, stepped in and came up with a slightly more appropriate alternative.
“Finally, when I met Chris and he came for our Thanksgiving, he started doing pulled pork sandwiches, so that I feel like is, to me, more tolerable,” she said.

Schwarzenegger Pratt continued, “His Thanksgiving tradition is now that he puts that as part of our whole tablescape at my mom’s house, is like Chris’s pulled pork sandwiches. So, you know that’s like, his thing. My enchiladas got booted and you know, I’m okay with it.”
But for her, the holiday season is about more than just having the right food. It’s about family.
“I love the holiday season, especially Thanksgiving, because it’s not so focused around gifts. It’s just like people can enjoy each other’s company,” she said.
In a follow-up post to Instagram, Schwarzenegger Pratt thanked Hudson for her time on the show.
“I loved this interview for many reasons and the top one being the Christmas tree I spotted upon arrival! Thank you for having me @jenniferhudsonshow, to chat all things Kat and Brandy. This is the kind of holiday spirit every studio needs 🎄✨” she said.
A few years ago, Schwarzenegger Pratt revealed that her husband does most of the Thanksgiving cooking, and now we know why.
“I’ll tell you what, this Thanksgiving I’m going to throw that apron on him and that oven mitt and that’s going to be a big new tradition in our family,” she said in 2023. “He does most of the cooking in the family. So, we have a great kind of combination of me loving to bake.”
No matter how traditional or out there your Thanksgiving traditions are, Schwarzenegger Pratt gives us a good reminder: the most important parts of this season are the family and friends we share it with.
