Beverly Hills, Calif. – Moviegoers prefer movies with traditional Christian values and Biblical principles, Dr. Ted Baehr, Founder and Publisher of MOVIEGUIDE® told a packed audience of Hollywood celebrities and insiders at the 17th Annual MOVIEGUIDE® Faith & Values Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
“It’s been a year of faith and values,” Dr. Baehr said while mentioning highlights from his 2009 Report to the Entertainment Industry from the elegant stage. “People want good to triumph over evil. They want to be inspired.”
For example, the report shows that movies with very strong Christian, biblical and/or moral content reflecting traditional biblical principles did the best at the box office and on home video in 2008. Also, the report shows that movies with no sex, nudity, foul language, and substance abuse made significantly more money in America and Canada than movies with some depicted sex, nudity, vulgarity, and substance abuse.
