Blake Shelton’s Touching Moment on THE VOICE Tour with Show Host’s Son

THE VOICE judge Blake Shelton recently gave Jackson Daly, son of the show’s host Carson Daly, a behind-the-scenes tour of THE VOICE set for his NBC NIGHTLY NEWS: KIDS EDITION show.

“So, this is where Carson Daly actually sits,” Shelton said, showing Jackson a room backstage. “While people are performing, he can watch the performance on the screen right here.”

“He keeps his notes so he knows a little bit of information about each contestant, and he can go out there and act like he knows what he’s talking about, you know? Like you do with this show,” the singer quipped.

On the TODAY show, Carson Daly revealed that the bond between Jackson and Shelton hasn’t wavered since the first day of filming.

“Jackson grew up on the set of THE VOICE. He was a year old when we first started,” Carson shared.

Jackson concluded the interview, thanking Shelton for talking with him.

“Well, Buddy,” Shelton said, “I’ll still promise to still be a major part of your life.”

Shelton will be leaving THE VOICE after this season and has been a judge since the show first aired in 2011, winning nine of its 23 seasons.

Movieguide® recently reported what Shelton plans to do after he departs from the show:

Although THE VOICE has had many winners throughout the years, Shelton believes he has won “the ultimate prize” by meeting his wife. The two have shared that they are happiest together as a family at their ranch in Oklahoma.

“We get away from everything [in L.A.], and we’re just us,” Shelton said. “It truly does feel different. That’s where I feel the most comfortable, happy and safe…”

“The kids see me as a very important person in their life. [When they ask], ‘Why isn’t Blake here?’ I take that stuff to heart. I’ve made plenty of money, but you can’t buy time back. I don’t want any regrets,” he added…

“The whole reason I’m even stepping away from THE VOICE is so I can just be there more, and that’s what I’m gonna do,” he said.
