Carrie Underwood updated fans about a sweet new addition to her family farm: a collection of tiny chicks born to one of her hens!
“This is happiness in a Tupperware bin!” Underwood wrote on a video of the new chicks. She said, “hi babies…hi babies” in the background.” This expansion to her farm comes after she welcomed two baby lambs in May.
Though Underwood has owned the 400-acre farm since 2011, she and her husband, Mike Fisher, did not finish building their dream home on the property until 2020. Since then, she has been fully embracing the farm life — and growing closer to God while away from the spotlight.
“I went down to the orchard to feed Sugar and the sheep and thought I’d check to see if the pink lemonade blueberries were almost ready… I was on the next-to-last bush when I thought I’d pray,” Underwood said earlier this summer, explaining an encounter she had that reminder her of her faith life. “I love praying out loud in the orchard…it’s so beautiful and peaceful.”
“I was about 15 seconds into my chat when I was surprised by a snake in the blueberry bush,” she explained. “Just a rat snake…nothing dangerous. But he was there…JUST as I began to pray.”

“Being a Christian isn’t a free ticket out of trouble. The world is full of evil…BUT God is with us,” Underwood continued. “The snake and I kept our eyes on each other…but I got what I came for, finished my prayer and went about my morning…having faith that Mr. Snakey and the devil will both be moving along…out of my orchard and out of my way!”
Underwood has become more bold about her beliefs while in the public eye. Earlier this year, she partnered with Christian singer Ben Fuller for a song that touches on how the Lord uses pain in our lives to draw us closer to him.
“When I wrote this song, I kept thinking about how difficult life can be and that if I was in control, and it was up to me, I’d make it a lot easier on myself — but I’d never know then how good God’s plan can be,” Fuller said. “I’m so grateful Carrie wanted to share her love for Jesus on a song with me. She was so kind and calm when we were in the studio. And I’m pretty sure I smiled almost as big as God did when she stepped up to the mic that day!”
Praise the Lord for the new life that has come to Underwood’s farm and for the way that taking care of the 400 acres has been good for her soul and allowed her to connect with God.
