Production began earlier this summer on the third movie of the franchise directed by Dennis VillenVilleneuve. The first two movies were selected as Movieguide® Award winners and contenders.

Screen Rant reported the upcoming adaptation, “Will continue the story of Chalamet’s Paul Atreides, as he battles against his enemies in this epic space saga. Part Three is being adapted from Frank Herbert’s book Dune: Messiah, however, some tweaks are expected to be made. For instance, Rebecca Ferguson’s Lady Jessica and Josh Brolin’s Gurney Halleck are confirmed to be in the movie despite not appearing in the book, albeit in expected smaller roles.”

Movieguide’s review of DUNE: PART TWO reads, “DUNE:  PART TWO tells the second half of science fiction writer Frank Herbert’s epic tale of political power, love and desert heroism. After his father was murdered by the evil Baron Harkonnen’s men, Paul and his mother learn the ways of the Fremen the indigenous people on the desert planet of Arrakis.”

Movieguide® notes that the film is “visually stunning” and “a story about good and evil, political power, religion, justice, revenge, and the consequences of wielding power on a worldwide, galactic scale. That said, the movie has some politically correct, direct attacks on religious ‘fundamentalism’ that can be used to attack all religion, but especially Christians and Muslims.”

DUNE isn’t the only movie Chalamet has lined up.

The actor previously shared how he has had to work on multiple projects at once.

“Everything I was working on, it was this secret: I had a table in London while I was making Wonka. On Dune 2, I had a table in Budapest, Jordan. I had a table in Abu Dhabi. I had a table at the Cannes Film Festival for The French Dispatch. I got myself an Airbnb in a town [around] Saint-Tropez after The French Dispatch, overlooking the water, and I was taking lessons there.”

Stay tuned for more updates on DUNE 3.
