Danica McKellar Shares New Ways to Meet 2023 Bible Reading Goal

By Movieguide® Contributor

Great American Family star Danica McKellar recently revealed a new way she’s approaching her goal of reading through the Bible in a year.

In a new episode of FAITH BITS on Great American Community, McKellar shared that she’s listening through the Bible.

“It’s very enriching and motivating,” McKellar states. “I love the combination. Oftentimes, I’ll go back and read what I’ve listened to.”

McKellar said that listening to God’s word helps her stay on track despite some days where she is unsure if she will have time to read.

“I know I will always have time to listen to it,” she explained.

McKellar talks about her One Step Closer bible that she received from Candace Cameron Bure being her main bible. But she touches on having a travel bible to fit in her luggage.

“Reading the bible in a year is very do-able. It’s only about 10-15 minutes of reading per day,” McKellar adds.

McKellar also touched on what God has taught her through her recent reading: “It’s interesting going through the Old Testament. There’s all sorts of stuff I didn’t know anything about.”

“I didn’t know anything about people living hundreds and hundreds of years old,” she added. “I have a lot to learn, I’m still figuring it out.”

McKellar concluded the episode: “My goal is not to understand everything, my goal is to read it all. They say your job when reading the bible is not to understand everything that happened but to understand God better. I’m here with an open mind and heart. I’m very intrigued.”

Movieguide® previously  reported McKellar updating us on her relationship with God and Jesus:

WONDER YEARS star Danica McKellar got personal in a recent Instagram post where she opened up about her personal relationship with God.

“Hey everyone! I went live today to share the journey I’ve recently embarked on,” she captioned a lengthy video post. “I’m not here to preach, but I have so much love in my heart I just had to share what I’m experiencing, and to share a little why I believe it’s taken me up to this point to begin this journey.”

McKellar’s post continued:

In my life, starting in childhood, I had been made aware of all the hypocrisy in the various religions of Christianity, it being used for evil, power & control throughout history, and that had definitely biased me. But that’s just people, that doesn’t represent God’s actual love for us. And I can tell you I’m experiencing a relationship with God and Jesus that I’ve never had before, and it feels miraculous. And it all started one evening when I was struggling with the idea of forgiveness and DM’d my good friend @candacecbure about a passage from the Bible she had read on her instastories, and then she sent me a Bible, and invited me to church… I am wishing all of you the love & freedom I feel in my heart on this journey, and a beautiful Sunday!!
