Danica McKellar Trusts God’s Plan Amid Chaotic Airline Experience

Great American Family star Danica McKellar recently opened up about trusting God’s plan even when life gets chaotic.
“I was changing some travel plans recently, and I needed to cancel a flight that I thought I was going to be taking that day, and I didn’t. And I remembered at the last [moment],” she explained in a video for Great American Community.
Unfortunately, she missed the cut-off to cancel her flight.
“And I was so mad, I was so frustrated,” McKellar said. “And I had to cancel a second flight too, and I canceled that one.”
THE WONDER YEARS star then realized she accidentally canceled the wrong flight.
In a panic, McKellar called the airline to try to get her flight back.
“The guy figured it out, and he got my ticket back. He reinstated the ticket. And I was so appreciative,” she explained.
McKellar thanked him profusely for all his help, only to realize after the call ended that her phone had been muted, and he didn’t hear her.
“He didn’t hear my gratitude, and I was just wrecked. I was like ‘what is going on?’ At that point, I turned it over to God, I said ‘God, I don’t understand what’s happening, what’s going on, what am I supposed to be getting from this?”
She felt an urge to call back and thank the man. She spoke with a woman who figured out who helped her.
“Ma’am, we’re going to send this message to him and also his supervisor, thank you so much for doing this,” the woman told McKellar.
“I had this overwhelming feeling. I just knew that I just helped somebody,” the actress said of that moment. “I may have blessed her and the guy who helped me. Through all this…craziness, all these mistakes…something beautiful came out of that.”
She encouraged her fans to “get curious” when they experience frustrations.
“Maybe the next time something really frustrating that you just don’t see the purpose in, maybe you will remember my story and say, ‘God…help me to see what it is,’” she concluded.
McKellar frequently opens up about how her relationship with God has changed her life.
“I can tell you I’m experiencing a relationship with God and Jesus that I’ve never had before, and it feels miraculous,” she said previously.
McKellar will host this year’s Movieguide® Awards along with fellow Great American Family actor Trevor Donovan.

“How could I possibly wrap up my impressions of the Bible in three minutes?” McKellar said.
“First of all, I really, really enjoyed it,” she revealed. “For me, reading the Bible, I just have to say, I felt so comforted. And oddly so, even during the chapters like getting through Job, you know, and the poor guy, he’s suffering and his friends are like, ‘yeah well it’s probably your fault. It’s something you did.’ And it goes on and on and on. There’s still something comforting about it.”
“It’s got to be that it’s God. God’s just in there,” she added. “Again and again, we see that God rewards faithfulness, and God is good. And even through the hard stories, you can see the tough love in there, like a parent with his children.”
McKellar then shared one important theme she recognized throughout the Bible: ego versus humility.
