Danny Gokey’s got a song for anyone who wants to be someone that others can depend on.

He recently shared a snippet of himself singing “Lean on Me,” which he released with Evan Craft last year.

Some of the lyrics are: “If you’re tired and hurtin’ / Weighed down by your burdens / The future looks uncertain / I’ll always be there for ya / I’ve learned Love is a verb / It’s never afraid of the hurt / If you can’t shoulder the world / You can Lean on me”

“🫂 Who do you know that has been this for you? Who do you know that needs to hear this from you today?” Gokey said.

When Danny Gokey introduced the song last year, he playfully teased the classic “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers. He then gave fans a glimpse of his more modern upbeat song of the same name.

Danny Gokey enjoys supporting others and often shares encouragement on his social media for that purpose. In 2023 on his Stay Strong tour, he made efforts to support and draw attention to various charities in different states, like New Mercies, which helps underprivileged individuals and families in Indiana.

During Holy Week last month, he encouraged his followers to be hopeful and resilient and used the example of Joseph.

“It’s how we interpret what happens to us that can make us or break us,” he explained.

“Joseph in the Bible was ripped from his family, sold into slavery, lied about, wrongly imprisoned and forgotten 😣 BUT through it all he remained faithful to God!” he wrote. “Instead of taking it personally, he stayed the course & held on to his trust in God.”

“🛣️ As a result, he was lifted to the highest position in the land! Be encouraged to keep doing the right thing, even when wrong things are happening.”

He explained that bitterness and resentment won’t get you anywhere. If you look to God, he will bring you out of darkness.

Believe “that God is working ALL things for your good!” he encouraged. “✝️ In this Holy Week, we remember everything that Jesus endured, and yet kept His eyes on the joy set before Him. No matter what you’re facing, stay focused on Him, and hold on to the victory that has been won! 🙌🙌🙌”

Through his musical ministry and gospel sharing, Danny Gokey embodies compassion, hope and resilience. He reminds us we shouldn’t hesitate to be someone others can lean on.
