Discovery+ Streaming Service To Launch in January With FIXER UPPER Reboot

Popular cable network Discovery is finally ready to unveil their streaming service, Discovery+.
The media giant revealed that their new service would launch in the U.S. on January 4, 2021. The service’s initial cost is set at $5 per month or $7 per month to watch the same content ad-free.
Discovery plans to rely heavily on its already extensive TV catalog. The service will include exclusives at launch, including new domestic access to BBC nature documentaries and a “first look” at Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Network material, as well as the FIXER UPPER reboot.
According to Fox News, Discovery+ will include FIXER UPPER: WELCOME HOME along with the cooking show, MAGNOLIA TABLE WITH JOANNA GAINES.
Discovery+ will also debut ROAD TO LAUNCH, which features the Gaineses having intimate conversations with other hosts the other hosts of shows on their network, and COURAGE TO RUN, which follows Chip as he trains for his first marathon after meeting someone very inspiring.
In addition to Magnolia Network content, Discovery+ will feature Discovery cable channel content from TLC, Food Network and Animal Planet.

The “Family Favorites” collection includes full seasons of series from Discovery’s collection of networks, including Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Animal Planet, Science Channel, Cooking Channel, and DIY. The content is commercial free and requires no sign-in.

As more and more streaming platforms enter a scene dominated by Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime, Discovery+’s success is up in the air. However, inclusion of significant family-friendly content could give the service a leg up over similarly sized streaming platforms. It should be noted that while some of this programming is wholesome, not all programs on these channels are appropriate for families or children.
