DWTS Pro Peta Murgatroyd Celebrates Pregnancy After Three Miscarriages: ‘The Best Blessing’

DANCING WITH THE STARS pro Peta Murgatroyd recently shared that she and her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy will welcome their second child in June.
This exciting announcement comes after the couple experienced fertility issues and three miscarriages over the last few years.
“All natural, it happened,” the professional dancer told PEOPLE. “I didn’t even know I was pregnant for so long until I was really feeling sick. I danced through DANCING WITH THE STARS with it. I started feeling weird, started feeling a little bit sick and a little bloated, and I didn’t want to test for weeks.”
However, she finally took a test and was thrilled, but cautious, when she saw the result.
“I think it was the fastest positive I’ve ever seen in my life. It just came up super quick, and I was just shocked.”
“It’s been completely different from my past pregnancy. It wasn’t like I jumped for joy and I shouted from the rooftops,” she shared.
Murgatroyd added, “It was more like a, ‘Okay, well let’s see what happens because I’ve been through this four other times, and it hasn’t worked.’ So I was very skeptical. I didn’t even tell Maks for a while.”
The news is equally exciting for the couple’s 6-year-old son Shai, who frequently asked about having a sibling.
Murgatroyd shared that he is “over the moon,” and the news has been “The best blessing for us, truly.”
Now out of the first trimester, she recently announced her pregnancy to her Instagram followers and thanked them for their support through the couple’s fertility journey.
“I want to thank ALL OF YOU who’ve been on this fertility journey with me from the beginning. It feels like I’m sharing this news with my extended family.”
“This news has brought extraordinary bliss to our family and we have so much to be grateful for,” she concluded.
