Everything We Know about COUNTY RESCUE Season 2

Everything We Know about COUNTY RESCUE Season 2

By Movieguide® Contributor

Great American PureFlix drama COUNTY RESCUE is gearing up for season 2 with a renewed focus on faith and family.

“COUNTRY RESCUE exemplifies our commitment to uplifting content that celebrates faith and family in an engaging way,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media. “The series highlights the heroism of EMTs and first responders, focusing on their character development and inspirational stories rather than solely on life-threatening incidents. The exceptional talent of our cast, producers and directors are the driver of the show’s success, and they make it a pleasure to announce the renewal for a second season.”

Some of the cast weighed in on what viewers can expect.

“Season one was really about getting to know the characters and the dynamics among them,” said Movieguide® Teddy Bear® nominated actor Brett Varvel. “In season two, we dive much deeper into their personal struggles, dreams, and what they stand for. Each character will have to make choices between what’s easy and what’s right, which are not always the same.”

Varvel’s Andy is a father and husband who hopes to lead viewers to have meaningful discussions with their families at home.

“It’s got everything that you would want to see again in season two: the rescue calls, some danger, excitement, comedy, love, romance, family and all kinds of different great things like that,” he said. “But what I love is, it’s something that the whole family can watch, but also makes them think. Families will have some really deep conversations after watching each episode and wrestling with, how would they respond if they were in that situation. What does the Bible have to say about this? All of those things come out of season two.”

Actress Julia Reilly also shared what’s next for her character, Dani.

“Dani thinks she’s found her place, but she quickly realizes that the challenges have only just begun,” she said. “We’re exploring what it really means to serve others, face trauma, and maintain faith when life is unpredictable. Season two is going to show what life looks like for Dani now that she’s been at the station and thinks she’s found a secure job,” she said. “But you know, as life goes, nothing’s ever perfect. The grass is always greener. And so we go further into the new challenges that come along with where she’s currently at.”

According to Parade, COUNTY RESCUE Season 2 is expected sometime early next year.

“And that’s the life that we live [as Christians] — we don’t walk around telling everybody about Jesus at every moment. But the Lord does influence our life profoundly,” Producer Shawn Boskie said in an interview.

“[Audiences] want to come home from work and they want to binge watch multiple seasons of characters that they love,” Boskie said. “COUNTRY RESCUE has that. Medical dramas tend to draw an audience in. You get to follow these characters through their trials and their victories. That’s why I’m so enthusiastic about this.”
