For years, Movieguide® has reported that movies with strong moral, biblical, and family values soar at the box office, and Monday’s opening presentations at CinemaCon 2026 proved that the wider entertainment industry finally pays attention.

Taking over the stages at Caesars Palace, both StudioCanal and Angel Studios delivered impressive presentations that highlighted a renewed industry commitment to clean, inspiring, and family-oriented storytelling. Rather than focusing solely on gritty reboots or mature themes, Day One celebrated content that parents and children enjoy together.

StudioCanal delighted exhibitors by leaning heavily into beloved, wholesome properties. Among their biggest reveals, the studio officially announced that PADDINGTON 4 entered development. The beloved bear’s cinematic outings have scored massive, uplifting hits with families worldwide, proving that kindness, good manners, and an optimistic worldview create box office gold.

The studio continues its momentum. StudioCanal also announced a brand-new movie based on the classic children’s book series PIPPI LONGSTOCKING, bringing the fiercely independent and joyful character to a new generation. Rounding out their family slate, the studio teased a new MR. MEN film and showcased early footage of SHAUN THE SHEEP: THE BEAST OF MOSSY BOTTOM, continuing the wildly popular, family-friendly Aardman Animation franchise.

Meanwhile, Angel Studios maintained the energy with a presentation that highlighted its meteoric rise. After making history with the phenomenal success of its animated hit DAVID, Angel doubled down on high-quality stories that do not compromise on values.

Expanding its horizons across multiple genres, Angel teased a thrilling reimagining of the John Wayne classic, THE ANGEL AND THE BADMAN, starring Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones, as well as a new adaptation of ANIMAL FARM directed by Andy Serkis.

As CinemaCon continues this week, Movieguide® watches with excitement as both major international studios and independent powerhouses recognize that audiences want uplift, not degradation, when they visit the theater. Let’s continue to support movies that champion truth, goodness, and beauty at the box office!
