Jenny Marrs Celebrates Mother’s Day with Reminder of Biblical Motherhood

By Movieguide® Contributor

HGTV star Jenny Marrs shared a post honoring Mother’s Day, sharing a powerful description of the joys and difficulties of being a mom.

“Mary quietly treasured these things in her heart… (Luke 2:19). Eight powerful words to describe motherhood,” Marrs wrote. “Oh, how our momma hearts are the keepers of treasured moments: the miraculously fresh newborn moments, the groggy middle of the night moments, the joyful adventuring together moments, the cheering for at the sideline moments, and the beautifully hard letting go and releasing them off into the world moments.”

“May I never take a single of these beautiful, miraculous, mundane, passing-by-in-a-blink moments for granted. 🤍” She continued.

“Happy Mother’s Day, friends. I know this day can be full of joy and also full of heartache for so many,” Mars added. “Sending you all love today, whether you’re in a season of waiting, a season of grieving or a season of gratitude and abundance.”

Marrs’ post was met with dozens of responses from mothers reminiscing on the fleeting moments with their kids that they have stored up in their hearts. It is incredible to see so many people share their experience with one of the most sacred jobs that the Lord entrusts us with.

Along with her husband Dave, Marrs is the mother of five children, twins Nathan and Ben, 12, Sylvie, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Luke, 4.

Marrs has previously shared the harrowing birth of her twins. She went into premature labor only 29 weeks into her pregnancy, and after an emergency procedure kept them in the womb, she was airlifted to an Arkansas hospital that was better equipped to care for them once they arrived.

The couple also adopted their daughter Sylvie from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a story that is equally as miraculous.

“The emotion of it was really similar to the birth of our bio children – that first time holding them,” Marrs previously said about finally receiving her daughter in America after almost two years of waiting. “I get emotional thinking about it, ‘cause it was just really special.”

Movieguide® previously reported:

Dave and Jenny Marrs recently shared the journey they took to build their family and adopt their daughter Sylvie.

“I got an email from an [adoption] agency that has kids that weren’t placed,” Jenny said. “[Sylvie] was on that email, and I just knew. And it wasn’t like I just got these all the time, you know, it wasn’t like that at all. I was like, ‘Oh wow, this is our daughter.’”

“We didn’t know the country that Sylvie was from, they don’t list any of that,” Dave added. “You’re just taking a big leap of faith that you literally have to start all over… [Jenny] called and said ‘this is her. I know, I know it. This is her.’”

“It was a long, hard process,” Dave continued. “We didn’t realize what we were getting ourselves into the moment we said yes.”
