Jamie Foxx Picks Up the Paddles After Health Scare

Corrine Foxx, daughter of actor Jamie Foxx, says the RAY star is doing “great” after an unknown health scare.
“He’s doing so great, he’s doing amazing,” said Corinne, who co-hosts game show BEAT SHAZAM with Jamie. “[I’m] so grateful to be able to work on [BEAT SHAZAM] with him and spend so much time with him.”

Jamie Foxx suffered a medical complication on April 11th and remains in the hospital.
Foxx’s daughter Corinne also posted on her Instagram account, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
Now, the actor’s recovery is going well, and he’s playing a ton of pickleball.
“That man and pickleball; it’s like he’s playing twice a day every day,” Corinne said. “It’s a whole thing. He’s fully in it.”
In March, Foxx even made an appearance in a pickleball paddle advertisement for Amazon:
Corrine became engaged to fiancé Joe Hooten in December. He helped the family out when he came with them on vacation.
“We were in Hawai’i on a snorkeling tour and none of my family knows how to swim,” Corrine told Entertainment Tonight. “So, we’re all in the middle of the ocean [and] everyone starts drowning. One by one, my fiancé dived in, brought some back, dived in brought some back.”
He won Jamie’s approval, who called Hooten “a keeper” and said he “saved the family.”
“Corinne’s update on her father comes more than one month after Jamie returned to cohost BEAT SHAZAM with her for the game show’s seventh season in May,” PEOPLE reported. “Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne previously stepped in to pinch hit for the father-daughter duo while they took a break as Jamie recovered from an undisclosed health condition he first experienced while on the set of his upcoming Netflix film BACK IN ACTION in April 2023.”
For Father’s Day, Corrine made her dad tear up with a picture slide show she presented on BEAT SHAZAM.
“It really means a lot this year because we’ve been through a lot this year,” Jamie said after he thanked her.
In 2004, Foxx took home the Grace Award® for Most Inspiring Television Performance at the Movieguide® Awards Gala, for the title role in REDEMPTION: THE STAN ‘TOOKIE’ WILLIAMS STORY.
He recently appeared in NOT ANOTHER CHURCH MOVIE and has several projects in development. In Netflix’s winter release, BACK IN ACTION, Foxx will star alongside Cameron Diaz as they double as parents and secret agents.
