This Valentine’s Day, Great American Family actress and previous Movieguide® Awards host Jen Lilley is asking for help for those in difficult circumstances or who don’t have a home.
“Hey Valentines! We’re back and full of surprises and LOVE! Our mission this Valentine’s: taking care of girls and women who are currently experiencing difficulties or homelessness,” the DAYS OF OUR LIVES actress captioned an Instagram video.
In the video, actors Christopher Russell, AW Walker, Trevor Donovan, Wes Brown and Marcus Rosner joined her in asking for support.
“With your help we can make a change! Go to ChristmasIsNotCancelled.com, spread love, and get entered to win a trip to @the_greenbrier!” Lilley shared.
Lilley’s non-profit, Christmas is Not Cancelled, is selling entries for a two-night trip to the Greenbrier, a luxury hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Entries also purchase care packages for women and girls in need or Valentine’s Day merchandise.
Christmas is Not Cancelled’s mission is to “is to spread Christmas cheer all year long and create a sense of community.” Movieguide® previously reported on the non-profit:
In 2020, actress Jen Lilley started her foster care charity, Christmas is not Cancelled.
Three years later, Lilley continues to share the joy of foster care and hopes that people continue to help aid children with needed gifts and supplies…
Jen Lilley wants those kids to know that they are loved, saying, “Hey, there’s a whole community of people that you don’t even know, that care about you and believe that you can change the trajectory of your life. You can rewrite the future. You’re not a statistic. You are a smart, young individual and we believe in you.”
Lilley elaborated on the organization’s Valentine’s Day project in her Instagram story.
She said, “Hey Everyone! I’m so excited that it’s February 1st! Why am I excited that it’s February 1st? Good question. It’s because today marks the first day of Counting down to Valentine’s.”
“We’re doing a campaign at Christmas is Not Cancelled called ‘Countdown to Valentines’ where we’re going to give 1000 care packages to teen girls in foster care, or women in battered shelters, or those who are experiencing homelessness. It’s a really big deal,” the actress continued. “We’re giving them love, and we’re giving them dignity.”
