John Schneider on Relationship With Late Wife Alicia: ‘God’s Love Here On Earth’

John Schneider is sharing how faith has helped him through the death of his wife, Alicia, and the comfort he feels knowing they will be “reunited.”
“Sometimes you meet someone where you feel you have known them already all of your life. And when that happens, there’s a special bond that I believe, as a Christian, that bond is God’s love here on Earth,” the actor said during an interview with NewsNation.
He continued, “I completely and totally believe that we will be reunited when I’m done here. And God will let me know when I’m done here. The first person that’s going to reach out for my hand when I take my last breath will be that woman. I believe I didn’t lose her. I know where she is, and I know where I’m going.”
Schneider also shared what meeting Alicia for the first time was like.
“We fell in love, I think instantly,” he explained. “I don’t know if you know what twin flames are. Soulmates we hear all the time, but twin flames are…When I met that young lady, my thought wasn’t, ‘Oh my God, she’s beautiful. I hope that she’ll go to dinner with me.’ My thought was, ‘I know you. We have had conversations before.’”
Schneider spoke about his reliance on faith during this time in an interview with Fox News, saying, “I look forward to that day [I reunite with Alicia]….[Belief in heaven] has been instilled in me for my whole life. But just that simply when you die, you will see those that you love again. That’s pretty simple. I’m pretty simple, so I take that at face value. So, when I tell people that, I believe immediately after my last breath here will be my first breath there. And it will be Alicia’s hand I’ll be holding.”
The DUKES OF HAZZARD star is honoring Alicia’s life and their marriage with a new album, “We’re Still Us.”
“I try to represent that now. I still try to represent that we’re still us,” he told People of his work to keep her legacy alive. “That’s the name of my new album…and that’s important to me because I didn’t want this. Nobody wanted it. Nobody expected it. This was not in our plan for 2023. So we have to do with it what we can. Representing us is important to me, and I think she would be doing the same.”

DUKES OF HAZZARD star John Schneider got emotional during his first public appearance since his wife’s death.
“I just finished a new album that I think is the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s all about her. It’s called ‘We’re Still Us,’” the actor shared, adding that he’s “very proud” of the music he has made.
He continued, “My bride Alicia and I did our own movies and our own music, so we didn’t work for anybody. So that was very, very helpful. Now that my much, much, much better half is not here but waiting for me, I am trying to honor her professionalism and trying to honor her skill.”
Schneider said that making this album has been “helpful” in his grieving process, “but honestly, I don’t see a time where this doesn’t hurt.”
