Kathie Lee Gifford: ‘God Loves Marriage’

Kathie Lee Gifford: ‘God Loves Marriage’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Kathie Lee Gifford is defending marriage as a holy institution and reminding the world of family’s importance to God.

“God loves marriage,” Gifford explained in a recent interview. “God instituted marriage for [a] reason, for a purpose. Family is so important to God. Marriages are under attack. Monogamy is under attack.”

The former morning show host called marriage a “holy alliance,” but did admit that some people are justified in divorcing.

“There are reasons why certain people should get divorced, and they have physical reasons to,” she explained. “I don’t know their first story. I just know that I’m sorry to them and their children.”

Gifford also discussed how important her Christian faith is in her everyday life.

“I don’t have a religion. I have a relationship with a living God, which is more than a 24/7 situation,” she shared. “It’s a time. And that’s why I do it. That’s the short answer.”

In another recent interview, Gifford shared her testimony and how she found Jesus at a young age.

“I came to know Jesus in a movie theater as a 12-year-old little Jewish girl,” Gifford explained. “And Jesus spoke to my heart through a movie that the Billy Graham organization put out, and I’ve never been the same since.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Gifford’s faith:

Kathie Lee Gifford, 67, shared how her faith in God allowed her to persevere through difficult times, appreciate the joyous times, and ultimately trust God with her future.

The former TODAY co-host released a new book titled, “It’s Never Too Late.” In her latest release, Gifford reflected on her life’s many ups and downs and how God sustained her through it all.

“I just trust in God. I get up every morning knowing that He has something new and fresh for me. And I just try to be faithful to it. And that has brought me down an incredibly adventurous journey that I’m still on,” Gifford told Fox News in a very in-depth, faith-filled interview.

Movieguide® gave Gifford the Visionary Award at our 2020 Movieguide® Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry.

“It’s never too late, first of all, to grab God’s hand,” Gifford told Fox. “No matter how old you are, no matter how much rheumatoid arthritis you’ve got in that hand, you can reach onto God at any time in any way, because He is there. If you’ve already believed in Him in your lifetime, you can draw closer to Him and you can start trusting more. You can start memorizing scripture that feeds your soul.”
