Lawn Care TikToker Goes Viral for Helping Elderly Woman: ‘Prayers Have Been Answered’
By Movieguide® Contributor
One Kansas influencer who owns a lawn and power-washing company uses his fame on social media to help others in need.
Spencer, who runs SB Mowing’s TikTok account, posts videos of himself approaching people in need of yard services and doing them for free.
Earlier this month, one of his posts went viral as he raised money for an elderly woman in need. “My prayers have been answered,” she told Spencer when he offered to clean up her yard.
“I got a call from a friend at the city, and she told me that there is an elderly lady that is in desperate need of help,” Spencer explained on GoFundMe. “So, I stopped by her house, and her lawn was getting CRAZY!”
The woman — Beth — explained she had been reaching out for help, but no one was willing. “She’s been trying to get someone out to take care of it, but nobody is answering their phones. The city has given her a warning for her grass and was going to charge her $240 to cut it, which she couldn’t afford. So, I completely transformed her lawn for free, and she was in tears; she was so happy,” Spencer wrote.

After transforming her lawn, Spencer had it on his heart to do more to help the woman. He and his audience noticed that she had some issues getting around and could use more help with her property.
“A lot of people are wanting to donate to help her fix some of the accessibility issues around her home,” he said on the donation page. They raised more than $380,000.

“I really appreciate everyone that donates to help Beth out. I will make sure that the money goes towards fixing all of the items above or any other accessibility issues that Beth needs. Some leftover money will be given to her in cash and the rest will be donated to local nonprofits to help other people in the same situation she is in.”
When Spencer informed Beth that over $380,000 had been donated to her cause, she expressed heartfelt gratitude.
“They kinda fell in love with you and your story. We just wanted to come together as a community to help you out and get you to a better spot,” Spencer told Beth.
“Those are the things dreams are made of,” she said.
