SEU Worship leads a movement of new, exploratory music that inspires teens and young adults across America.
Inspired by the transforming of lives around her, singer and songwriter Chelsea Plank shared how their songs are “a cry for us just as hungry believers.” She describes the hunger that students felt — and still feel — on campus as yearning for God’s presence.
SEU alum Plank is the creative mind behind hit songs like “What a God,” “Monday Morning Faith” and the recently released “Fruit Takes Time.” Plank’s powerful voice has led others in praise in SEU Worship since she joined SEU Worship in 2017.
Plank shares her joy in being part of SEU, saying, “We’re all created to worship, and so even to build that muscle of worship and praise and adoration, along with that creative muscle, was like no other experience I saw offered anywhere else.”
SEU Worship’s newest album, A Forgiving God, was released in June 2025.
Plank expresses her excitement for the album, sharing that “it’s a fresh sound for us and something we’re really excited about…It feels the most like us…this is the sound of our campus, this is the sound of our students.”
SEU Worship’s songs have had a profound impact on youth. People of all ages and areas of the world flood the comments of their videos with words of praise for God and Jesus.
People crave this kind of music. Just look at SEU Worship’s Spotify page: as of July 2025, the group has over 1 million monthly listeners, with their most listened to song, “Monday Morning Faith,” sitting at a staggering 19.7 million listens. Their top YouTube video, “What a God” (Extended), has over 2 million views.
SEU Worship was also invited to Winter Jam 2024, the U.S.’s largest Christian music tour, and is slated to perform in this year’s Winter Jam too.
Several alum of SEU Worship continue to make a splash in the music industry. Grammy-winning musicians Tiffany Hudson and Sam Simon continue their musical careers in the Christian groups Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music, respectively.
Listening to “What a God” with headphones on can easily give one chills. Plank’s vulnerable, honest lyrics speak to many Christians:
Who thought I’d find You at the lowest place?
Who thought You’d feel me in the crowd?
Who knew You make good of my mistakes?
You’re nothin’ like I thought You were, You’re better
Plank highlights that the creating of worship music and seeing the transformative power of God in our communities “starts with each and every burning heart.” It’s beautiful to see people so open about praising God and thanking Him in SEU Worship’s YouTube comments section and to see these young artists at SEU use their musical talents to write and guide others seeking God’s presence.
Check out SEU Worship’s inspiring music as they continue to lead young people to God.
