Nightbirde’s Sister Honors Late Singer With Song ‘All About Jesus’

Kate Marczewski, sister of late AMERICA’S GOT TALENT star Nightbirde, just released a song that helped her process her grief and look to God following her sister’s death.
“After Jane (Nightbirde) passed away, I was at a loss for words but overflowing with emotion. How does one put words to the deepest grief? My family asked me if I wanted to speak at Jane’s memorial service, to which I replied, ‘I’m going to ask God to give me a song instead,’ and the next day, He did,” Marczewski told CBN.
“I woke up the next morning and sat down at the piano. Every lyric, line, and melody fell perfectly into place. It was the easiest song I’ve ever written,” she said. “This song is God’s gift to me to help me process through my grief.”
Nightbirde won America’s heart in 2021 after a stunning musical performance on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT. She competed amid her cancer battle and earned Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer. The singer took advantage of her newfound platform to inspire and encourage others.
Since her death on Feb. 19, 2022, Nightbirde’s music has been covered many times and graced the AGT stage as other singers hope to follow in her footsteps.
Marczewski has followed her sister’s lead and used the Nightbirde platform to continue to speak hope into others’ lives. In December, she released the song she wrote for her sister’s memorial service – “Life Is A Gift” – and has already received an outpouring of gratitude for the way the song has connected with others.
In an Instagram post, Marczewski thanked her sister for the impact she left behind: “The legacy you left is nothing short of a miracle. Your life was a gift to every person who encountered it, and we are still receiving from it today. I am grateful for every minute I had with you.”
“My hope for this song is that it helps people the same way it helped me. Since its release, people have reached out to me. They tell of how this song has touched them in their pain, in their grief, and in their struggles through the holiday season,” Marczewski said.
“The people we come in contact with on a daily basis are often internally battling against something that they don’t talk about,” she continued. “We all need reminders of grace that God gives in the midst of pain. He so graciously offers us hope.”
A lifelong musician who leads worship at her home church in Ohio, Marczewski is also using the Nightbirde platform to point fans toward Christ.
“We could say that this song is about me, or about Jane, or the Marczewski family. We could even say that it’s about loss or grief,” she said. “But it’s not about any of those things. This song is all about Jesus, and about how He walks with us every step of the way.”
“I’m grateful to God for trusting me with such a beautiful song, I’m thankful to everyone who helped me make it happen, and I’m thankful to everyone who has listened,” she added.

After the 30-year-old Liberty University grad sang her original song “It’s OK” on the show, the song hit the top charts on iTunes.
Although Nightbirde revealed that she has a 2% chance of living, she told audiences during her audition to look beyond her circumstances.
