Paramount+ Announces SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Spinoff Series

Paramount+ has announced SONIC THE HEDGEHOG spinoff series KNUCKLES, which will premiere April 26 on the streaming platform.
KNUCKLES, set “between the events of SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 and the upcoming third movie…zooms in on Knuckles’ (Idris Elba) new life in Green Hills, Montana, where he, Sonic (Ben Schwartz), and Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) have become a kind of alien family. After years of trying to be a good parental figure to Sonic, Maddie Wachowski (Tika Sumpter) couldn’t be happier to have people like Knuckles around, if only because he can actually keep up with the hedgehog. But as good as Knuckles may be at wearing his friends out, he’s also a vengeance-hungry warrior who isn’t exactly cut out for small-town living,” The Verge wrote.
In addition to the star-studded cast, guest actors included “Stockard Channing (THE WEST WING), Edi Patterson (THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES), Scott Mescudi (DON’T LOOK UP), Ellie Taylor (TED LASSO), Julian Barratt (MINDHORN), Rory McCann (GAME OF THRONES, Cary Elwes (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING), Christopher Lloyd (BACK TO THE FUTURE), Paul Scheer (BLACK MONDAY), and Rob Huebel (CHILDRENS HOSPITAL). Special guest star Ben Schwartz will reprise his role as Sonic, as well as special guest star Tika Sumpter, reprising her role as Maddie. Colleen O’Shaughnessey will also return as a special guest star in her role as Tails,” Deadline reported.
Paramount+ released a new trailer for the series during Super Bowl LVIII.

Movieguide® celebrated SONIC THE HEDGEHOG’s “Strong moral worldview with emphasis on loyalty, [and] sticking together in marriage.” Part of the review reads:

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 won Movieguide®’s Best Movies for Families award last year. The review reads:
