Pastor Shuts Down Haunted Mansion Ride After Rebuking Demons

As THE HAUNTED MANSION bombs in the box office, it reminds me of how very real and present demons are in our society today. The strong occult elements in the movie are nothing to be trifled with.
According to the Movieguide® review:
The new HAUNTED MANSION has some funny, exciting, scary moments, but its ghost story lacks credibility. Also, the demonic villain doesn’t show up until the second act. HAUNTED MANSION has a strong occult worldview and false occult theology. This unbiblical content is slightly mitigated by some positive moral, redemptive elements. For instance, it has a strong mother figure in the boy’s mother. However, HAUNTED MANSION’s ending is too occult and unbiblical. Hollywood would do better if it takes a Christian, biblical approach to the supernatural, like the movie NEFARIOUS.
It’s not just the movie, though. There are also demonic forces involved in the ride at Walt Disney World. With permission, I’m sharing a story my father, Pastor Bubba Justice, experienced when on the ride.
My dad was a senior in high school when he and some friends went to Walt Disney World. As a Christian, he had some very strong experiences with the supernatural and knew how to cast out demons. When his friends suggested boarding the Haunted Mansion ride, he had an uneasy feeling but went on anyway.
As Justice saw the ghouls and ghosts along the ride, he knew there was something more sinister behind their animatronic laughs. At the end of the ride, a computer projected a ghost in the cart with my dad and a friend.
“The ghost said, ‘I’m going to follow you home,’ or something along those lines,” Justice said. “So I said, ‘I rebuke you in the name of Jesus!'”
The ride shut down completely.
“Why’d you do that? Now we’re stuck!” his friend complained. While the employees worked to get the ride functioning again, my dad knew the value of having Christ on his side that day.
Growing up, we heard this story dozens of times, especially when walking through Walt Disney World. My dad used his supernatural authority to protect his family.
Too often, we consume media without thinking about the consequences. With THE HAUNTED MANSION movie and ride, Disney has unfortunately tried to convince people that the occult is acceptable in familial settings. This is why we must remain vigilant in teaching our children biblical worldviews as they consume media. Then, they can learn to recognize their own supernatural power and what is acceptable in what they watch.
