This is the highest civilian accolade from The Congressional Medal of Honor Society.
Sinise founded the Gary Sinise Foundation after his role in FORREST GUMP inspired him to care for veterans. According to the foundation’s website:
At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.
We do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.
One of Sinise’s noteworthy veterans programs is actually for their families.
This past Christmas, Sinise held his annual Snowball Express, which takes dozens of families of fallen warriors, known as gold star families, to DisneyWorld.
Sinise is also a man of Christian faith and is gearing up for his new faith-based movie I STILL BELIEVE with KJ Apa and Shania Twain.
