Reba McEntire to Sing at Iconic Venue Where Father, Grandfather Performed

Reba McEntire to Sing at Iconic Venue Where Father, Grandfather Performed

By Movieguide® Contributor

Country music superstar Reba McEntire is back on the road with her Reba: Live in Concert tour this spring.

Two venues on this tour hold a meaningful place in McEntire’s heart.

The Movieguide® Award nominee will perform at Madison Square Garden, becoming the third generation in her family to do so.

“My grandpap performed [at Madison Square Garden] and my dad roped caves at the Madison Square Rodeo in 1946 and ’47,” she shared. “So for a McEntire to get to go back in and perform there, that’s going to be really sweet for all of us.”

She’s also slated to perform at the legendary Hollywood Bowl.

“I’ve been there before. I’ve gotten to do special events but never got to headline or perform there with my concert,” McEntire said.

With over 35 no. 1 hits, McEntire plans to perform fan favorites.

“We’ve learned that the fans like to sing along with us with familiar music,” she added. “We’re having fun with that.”

In addition to her tour, McEntire recently opened Reba’s Place, a restaurant in her home state of Oklahoma.

“It’s a really fun place. All the food goes from…the tomahawk steak to pinto beans, fried corn, fried potatoes with cornbread, and all of their food is farm-to-table, outsourced to locally,” she said.

The Country Music Hall of Famer is also releasing a new lifestyle book this fall.

“It’s fun stories. It’s fun recipes, drink recipes, pictures that some people have not seen before,” McEntire revealed.

McEntire’s REBA MCENTIRE: MY CHAINS ARE GONE was nominated for a 2023 Movieguide@ Award.

Part of Movieguide@’s review reads:

REBA MCENTIRE: MY CHAINS ARE GONE is a sneak peak into McEntire’s new gospel album. It also promotes an accompanying DVD about her rise to fame, her family and her faith. Viewers of MY CHAINS ARE GONE will leave encouraged by faith-centered, uplifting songs and by inspiring, heartwarming conversation.

Movieguide® previously reported on McEntire:

Reba McEntire is ready to hit the road this fall, heading out on a 17-city tour with fellow country star Terri Clark.

“Terri and I have toured before,” McEntire said. “One tour we were with Brad Paisley. So we called it the ‘Two Hats and a Redhead tour.’”

The tour will kick off on October 13, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and finish on November 19, in Wichita, Kansas.

McEntire is ready to get back on the road and back to work.

“Everybody knows that I want to have fun doing what I’m doing,” she said. “I want to do work that’s fun.”
