Comedian Rob Schneider Celebrates Christ’s Gift of ‘Unlimited Forgiveness’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Comedian Rob Schneider revealed that he recently converted to Catholicism, finding freedom from the hatred that has ruled his life.

“At 60 you realize the very brevity of life and temporariness of it all. A humbling knowledge that there is indeed a time limit for all things and that God’s design through perfect, is precious beyond its brevity,” Schneider posted on X, formerly Twitter, reflecting on his life.

“As I am a new convert to Catholicism, I offer my apology for my lack of Christ’s forgiveness to my fellow man,” he added, revealing that he has held on to a lot of hatred from things done during the pandemic.

“I was so angry at the people who shut down schools and indeed the world and who coerced others to do things against their will which hurt many people deeply. I offer my unconditional forgiveness and amnesty,” he said.

Schneider continued to extend forgiveness to multiple famous people without naming them directly.

“For how can I stay mad at the famous singer who would not let others in to his Broadway show unless they had an experiential jab,” he said. “I will never forget how kind he was to me and my friends when he was the musical guest on SNL.”

“How can I continue to hold a grudge against the actor who shamed people like me but has been a great example for other actors to never give up and keep fighting for their dreams,” Schneider continued. “How can I still be mad at the lovely actress that said she could no longer be friends with people like me who didn’t ‘get’ it, knowing how incredibly kind she is with every child she meets.”

Along with his recent conversion to faith, Schneider shared how his mother’s ability to forgive the World War II occupiers who killed both of her brothers inspired him.

“The Christ intends for all of us to be free,” he added. “For His gift of ultimate and unlimited forgiveness is indeed the gift for all humanity. May God bless you and your families now and forever.”

It is encouraging to see someone new to faith publicly declare the change he has seen in himself since giving his life over to Christ. Pray for Schneider as he begins his walk with God.

Movieguide® previously reported on Schneider:

Comedian Rob Schneider surprised fans while working in a drive-thru to promote his new movie, DADDY DAUGHTER TRIP.

Schneider handed customers their orders through an Arizona Raising Cane’s window, along with tickets to see his new movie that premieres this week.

“Our company, Mandalini Films, is now based in Scottsdale, and we are very proud to have made our film ‘Daddy Daughter Trip’ entirely here in Arizona,” Schneider said. “It’s truly a postcard for the state’s picturesque cinematic locations. We are grateful to the people of Arizona for their support and generosity of spirit in what we hope is the first of many family-friendly films we want to make right here in our new home.”
