Patrick Renna of SANDLOT fame and his wife Jasmin just welcomed their third child into the world, announcing their new daughter’s birth on Instagram.
“Lily June Renna” the actor captioned the post accompanied by sweet photos of the new baby with her family. “Born July 2nd, 2:49am. 7 lbs. 7 oz.”
“After three, I’m even more in awe of my wife and all moms out there,” he continued. “Mom is good. Baby is good. Brothers are good. Dad is… how much time you got?”
People in the comment section congratulated the couple on their new addition.
“Yesssss!!! What a perfect addition to your family!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” one person said. “Congrats! Bet she grows up to be a goalie or catcher… just a hunch,” another wrote, referencing to Renna’s hit role in THE SANDLOT.
The Rennas are already parents to sons Flynn, 8, and Liam, 5, making Lily the first girl in the family.
Originally, the couple thought they were having another boy after a hilarious mix up.
“We were convinced we were having our third boy because I mistakenly looked at our second son’s test results from 2020,” Renna previously told PEOPLE. “Whoops! So, for two weeks, we were all set on welcoming another little guy — until the doctor called and told us the real news.”
He added, “Finding out we’re having a baby girl was the best surprise, and my wife, our two boys, and I couldn’t be more excited to meet her.”
Renna gained popularity for his role in the 1993 film THE SANDLOT.
“Those are the best memories because we truly were like brothers on and off the field,” he said upon the movie’s 30th anniversary in 2023. “So the moments of back in the apartment complexes we were staying in, in the swimming pool and just being buds over the summer. Those are the best memories.”
He added, “We’re all on it. We’re all pretty close. Some of the guys, Marty [York] and Victor [DiMattia], are quite close and they’ve sort of stayed in touch over all the years. But I see them a couple times a year, and it’s like no time has passed and we just jump right back into it. We’re close, for sure. We all share this great moment in history together.”
Movieguide®’s review of THE SANDLOT calls it “good, wholesome family entertainment [that] will cause its viewers to laugh and to rejoice as they leave the theatre wishing that more just plain good movies would come along.”
