TODAY anchor Savannah Guthrie asks fans for prayers after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing on Jan. 31.

“Please pray,” Savannah Guthrie posted on Instagram on Feb. 2.

She continued in the caption, “We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him.”

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the 84-year-old grandmother and mom of three disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona, home last weekend, according to local authorities. Her family reported her missing by noon on Feb. 1.

As of this morning, Feb. 3, police believe Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home against her will in a “possible kidnapping or abduction” and are treating her home as a “crime scene.”

Authorities reported finding possible DNA at the crime scene.

“We took some samples that we hope will have enough profile of a DNA profile that gives us some identification of what we’re looking at,” said Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.

Nanos also said that Nancy Guthrie does not have cognitive issues “but has physical challenges and is in need of medication that can be fatal if not received within 24 hours,” per TODAY.

“She is very limited in her mobility, we know she didn’t just walk out of there, that we know,” he added. “There were other things at the scene that indicate that she did not leave on her own.”

Nanos told NBC News that her disappearance is a tragedy for the community.

“This is just really sad for our community,” he said. “Savannah is family to us. She’s a big part of this community. Her family is devastated, the entire family. And you know, this just doesn’t happen in Tucson.”

Savannah Guthrie was absent from the TODAY SHOW on Monday. In a statement reported on the air, she said in part: “I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support.”

“Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom,” she added. “We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at: 520-351-4900.”

Savannah Guthrie and her family are clinging to their faith as the search for Nancy Guthrie enters the third day.

“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment,” her Instagram post continued. “We need you.”

She went on to quote Isaiah 26:3: “He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”

“Bring her home,” she concluded.

Please pray for Nancy and Savannah Guthrie and their entire family.
