Bruce Willis’ daughter Tallulah Willis received criticism after posting photos of her dad on Instagram, but she didn’t back down.
On June 22, she shared some sweet snaps of her hugging and spending time with her father. Due to his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis, some people said she shouldn’t have posted the photos because Bruce couldn’t consent.
In a since deleted comment, one person said, “I don’t think you should expose your dad to the public! He is vulnerable! And some things should be kept private! You don’t have his permission to post it!”
Tallulah defended her actions, though, saying “Hi. I hear that. As a family we use our discretion when posting. Today was a great day filled with smiles. I made the judgement call to show that to the world, because I know what he means to everyone.”
Overall, most people showed support for the family and appreciated the photos of the actor.
“This is a loving picture. There should be no criticism of her posting this picture. Bruce and his daughter are raising awareness, so this can be cured someday,” one user said.
Another person added, “As a caregiver for my mom, who battled Alzheimer’s for over 10 years, your posts are a beautiful way of showing the joy in the small moments. Having a network of families who share this experience, and who are NOT judgmental, is everything. Those making negative comments hopefully will never have to go through this. I wish you all the best. ❤️”

Tallulah isn’t the only family member who recently shared photos of Bruce. On Father’s Day, his wife, Emma Heming Willis, posted a pic of the actor and one of their daughters with a sweet caption acknowledging dads with disabilities.
“Happy Father’s Day to all the dads living with disability or disease, showing up in the ways they can and to the children who show up for them,” Heming Willis began.
She continued, “What Bruce teaches our girls goes far beyond words. Resilience, unconditional love, and the quiet strength in simply being present. This photo says so much. Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything else changes.”
Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022, and a year later, his family announced he had also been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
The Mayo Clinic defines frontotemporal dementia as “an umbrella term for a group of brain diseases that mainly affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These areas of the brain are associated with personality, behavior and language.”
Since his diagnosis, Bruce’s family has rallied around him, supporting and loving him in the best ways they can.
