Former NFL Star Reminds Christians ‘We’ve Already Won’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Tim Tebow is reminding us that we fight “from victory” and not for it.

“Could you imagine if we were playing and we were just getting destroyed?” Tebow asked during an appearance on THE CHURCH OF ELEVEN22 podcast. “Like, I mean, the first half just sucked, but someone came up to you that you trusted, that you totally believed in and said, ‘Hey, I just want you to know: keep playing hard. Follow the game plan beyond a shadow of a doubt. You’re winning. It’s already been said and done. You’re going to win.’”

He continued, “Do you know how much harder we would play? Knowing, ‘Oh, wait a second, that means that we’re going to score touchdowns.’

“God is at work and we know we’re going to win,” Tebow explained. “We’ve been challenged to keep fighting, keep playing, because we’ve already won.”

Tebow frequently shares his faith on social media.

In one recent post, the former NFL star wrote, “The Bible isn’t just a book…it’s a love letter to you! Would we be willing to put our full trust into God and what His word says about us? That we are fearfully and wonderfully made, that He has a plan for us and what He wants to do with our lives!”

Movieguide® previously reported on Tebow’s efforts to spread his faith online:

In a new social media post, football star Tim Tebow reminded people that their main audience should always be God.

“Growing up, I always wanted people to like me,” Tebow wrote. “I was what you would call a people pleaser. Today, while I still strive to do good things for others as we all should, I’ve come to realize that our main audience in life isn’t other people. It’s God.

“Be motivated not by what other people think about you but by what God thinks about you!” he concluded.

After retiring from his successful football career, Tebow has dedicated his life to fighting human trafficking through the Tim Tebow Foundation.

“We’ve been in this fight for over 10 years, since my dad was overseas and was able to purchase the freedom of four little girls,” he told Fox News. “And I just knew that day that I was called to fight for the most vulnerable. And that’s what we’re trying to do.”

Tebow continued, “In the last 12 months, there have been over 500,000 unique IP addresses that have downloaded and shared child sexual abuse material. And we know, on average, that 55 to 85% of those that are downloading and sharing it are also hands-on offenders. That means that there’s hundreds of thousands of boys and girls that are being abused, that are being hurt, that are being exploited, and we have to do something against it…Yes, we made progress with our partners and nonprofit and law enforcement, but there’s so many more that we have to get to.”
