It may only be September, but Great American Family is already cooking up something special for the holidays!
CHRISTMAS BY THE SPOONFUL, starring Trevor Donovan and Jill Wagner, will debut this Christmas season.
“In CHRISTMAS BY THE SPOONFUL, Beth Green (Wagner) a devoted cafe owner, returns to her hometown of Snow Ridge to help her parents host the town’s most cherished tradition, the annual Yuletide Potluck, a holiday potluck that welcome military families and veterans who might otherwise spend Christmas alone,” the synopsis reads.
While at her parents’ inn, the synopsis continues, “Beth meets Jack Evans (Donovan), a civil engineer with the military, assigned to oversee projects at the local base over Christmas. After realizing they know each other from a blind date 20 years ago that did not go well, neither expects the spark that slowly ignites between them.”
“We are thrilled to bring Jill Wagner and Trevor Donovan, two of our most cherished stars, together in a film that celebrates family, community and honoring our military,” said Kaitlyn Haubrich, Chief Brand Officer & Chief of Staff, Great American Media, in a press release.

GAF teased CHRISTMAS BY THE SPOONFUL just before announcing it, writing on Instagram, “We’re serving up another new Christmas movie! Come back tomorrow to learn who’s joining the Great American Christmas 5th anniversary lineup. Any guesses what it may be?”
One fan had a very close guess: “My guess is ‘Potluck Christmas’ with Trevor Donovan! Can’t wait to see the lineup for Great American Christmas 2025!!”
Another user asked, “When will you announce the whole lineup and have a checklist?” The GAF account replied, “Soon! Stayed tuned.”
This year marks GAF’s fifth annual Great American Christmas programming. The company prides itself on creating wholesome, family-friendly content.
“As the flagship linear TV network, Great American Family features original Christmas movies, rom-coms and classic series that celebrate faith, family and country. Great American Pure Flix is a leading faith and family streaming service that inspires, uplifts and entertains with content that you can confidently stream with the entire family,” the press release explains.
So far, GAF has a stacked Christmas lineup.
“Merry Christmas! Here your favorite stars, original movies, and fun-filled specials shine merry and bright all throughout the season,” the network announced. “So deck your halls, mark your calendars, and get ready to celebrate your new favorite holiday tradition.”
Other films set to premiere this Christmas season are A WISCONSIN CHRISTMAS PIE, CHRISTMAS PAGES, CHRISTMAS IN MIDNIGHT CLEAR, A BELLE CHRISTMAS, HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS and A CHRISTMAS LIST OF BLESSINGS.
