YELLOWSTONE Star Says His Family Brings Him ‘More Joy Than Anything’

YELLOWSTONE star and country singer Luke Grimes says having his first child “changed everything in every way possible.”

“I think people talk about your heart expanding a little bit every day, and it’s so true,” he told PEOPLE. “It’s like there’s a love growing inside of me that I didn’t know I was capable of, and it’s incredible and it’s scary because you have so much more skin in the game. You know what I mean?…Having my baby has changed everything in every way possible.”

Grimes and his wife, Bianca Rodrigues Grimes, welcomed their first child, a boy whose name they have not shared publicly, in October.

Rodrigues Grimes posted a photo of the family, captioned, “And then there were 3.”

Grimes shared that his next album “will be very heavily influenced by having [his son] around,” adding, “That’s the biggest influence in my life right now.”

“Hopefully the music doesn’t become this sort of cheesy love fest [now],” he joked. “But I’ve got to be honest with how I feel and we will see what comes out of that.”

Grimes previously spoke to PEOPLE about becoming a dad, saying, “Having my own family…my real life little family now is bringing me more joy than anything.”

“Family has been a big thing since I was little,” he continued. “I [have] a huge immediate family. I was the youngest of four. They all got married when I was still very young. So by the time I had nieces and nephews, starting at two years old, there was family everywhere all over the place. It was just sort of that way in Ohio and a Christian home, and so that was always my foundation.”

Grimes said, “I knew one day I wanted to start my own family, and I knew that that was going to be where the real happiness came from. The other stuff was just going to pay the bills.”

He has previously spoken about the role his faith has played in his musical career.
