A CHRISTMAS CASTLE PROPOSAL: A ROYAL IN PARADISE 2 is the sequel to Great American Family’s popular romance A ROYAL IN PARADISE Olivia and Prince Alexander are struggling to find time together as she prepares for the publication of her next book, and he runs his nature foundation and juggles royal duties. When the couple get their families together for the holidays, tensions rise as they try to take part in family traditions and royal obligations. Eventually, Olivia questions whether or not she’s ready to be a royal.
Olivia and Prince Alexander are struggling to balance their personal and professional lives in the run-up to Christmas. Olivia still hasn’t quite finished her latest book, while Prince Alexander is swamped with work. He’s also trying to find the perfect time to propose to Olivia but can’t seem to make it happen.
The couple head to Torovia, Alexander’s kingdom, for Christmas, where Olivia’s parents later join them and Alexander’s mother, Queen Patricia. Olivia is surprised to hear she must play an important role at the upcoming royal Christmas banquet. She worries how she’ll balance preparations with the Christmas traditions her parents want to celebrate with her and Alexander.
Olivia and Prince Alexander try to make both her parents and his mother happy by participating in both sets of plans. However, Alexander is constantly distracted by his charity work for his nature foundation. Meanwhile, Olivia starts to suspect he may propose and worries she won’t make a good fit as a royal.
Tensions rise as Olivia’s mother gets frustrated that she’s busy with preparations for the royal Christmas banquet. She resents the fact that Queen Patricia isn’t incorporating Olivia’s family traditions into the holiday. Things come to a head when she tells Olivia she doesn’t belong in the castle with the royals and should go home with her parents.
Later, everyone gathers for the Christmas banquet, where Olivia overhears some guests talking about how she isn’t a good fit for Prince Alexander and wouldn’t make a good queen. While at dinner, Alexander proposes in front of everyone. Olivia tells him they aren’t ready for this step and leaves. Queen Patricia follows her and the two talk. Queen Patricia tells Olivia she thinks she’ll be a good queen and is comfortable passing the throne to Alexander, knowing that he has her by his side. Olivia’s mother joins them and apologizes for what she said earlier. Olivia forgives her.
The next day, everyone gathers for breakfast and Alexander tells Olivia he knows he hasn’t been as present as he should have been. He reveals that he will be stepping down from the foundation, as his relationship with her is more important to him. The two families happily celebrate Christmas together, and Olivia pulls Alexander aside to tell him she is ready to share her life with him. He proposes again, and she accepts.
