More Detail:

“Rise Up,” Episode 11 of A.D. THE BIBLE CONTINUES, is another great, exciting faith-based program. It opens with Caiaphas telling the Temple crowd about the Roman Emperor’s statue the Emperor’s troops placing in the Temple. He tells them every Jew must peacefully unite to take a stand against this. Jesus’s brother, James, hears Caiaphas and goes to the other disciples. James says they should ask Caiaphas if the Christians can return peacefully to the Temple and resume preaching. Peter is skeptical, since Caiaphas helped crucify Jesus, but John reminds him Jesus said, “Father, forgive them for they don’t know what they’re doing.” So, Peter agrees to let Joseph go to Caiaphas. Meanwhile, the Zealots, with fresh weapons and money, plan to attack the Romans.

“Rise Up” is exciting, powerful television. It’s shot like a feature-length movie, with superb acting and excellent production values. Best of all, it wonderfully depicts the power of God’s spirit acting through Peter and the early Christian disciples. Like the best A.D. episodes, “Rise Up” has exhilarating, soul-stirring moments and moments that will bring tears to the audience’s eyes.
