Content:

(CCC, BBB, V, S, A) Very strong Christian, biblical worldview extols Jesus, the Holy Spirit, prayer, love, and forgiveness; no foul language; some violence when Pilate threatens Caligula with a knife, when Pilate’s wife dreams of Emperor Tiberius being murdered in his bed, and Simon the Sorcerer starts to suffer God’s judgment for trying to buy Holy Spirit power from Peter; no sex depicted but it’s implied Caligula and the son of Herod Antipas have indulged in an orgy when they are shown sleeping in a room with two women who are asleep as well; some shots of upper male nudity and the naked back of a woman on a bed; light alcohol; no smoking or drug use; and, nothing else objectionable.

More Detail:

“The Road to Damascus” episode of A.D. THE BIBLE CONTINUES on May 24 features a brilliantly acted presentation of Saul’s conversion, healing and baptism. On the road to Damascus, Jesus appears to Saul, admonishes him for his persecution and tells Saul to wait for instructions in Damascus. The light around Jesus blinds Saul, and he cries for help. In Damascus, Jesus tells Ananias to heal Saul and tell him He has appointed Saul to be his witness to the Gentiles and to the people of Israel. Meanwhile, in Samaria, Peter admonishes Simon the Sorcerer, and in Jerusalem, Pilate ends up on the wrong side of Caligula, and the wrong side of history.

Saul’s conversion, healing and baptism scenes in A.D. THE BIBLE CONTINUES are among the most dramatic, joyous scenes ever broadcast on television. They will move anyone who loves Jesus, especially if they know how important Paul’s leadership became. The scenes of Peter in Samaria and the drama between Caligula and Pilate are also pretty powerful. Best of all, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is dramatically promoted throughout “The Road to Damascus.”
