More Detail:
“Brothers in Arms” may be one of the most confusing episodes of the series, mixing up the timeline and bringing in the Ethiopian Eunuch later in the narrative in Jerusalem as he meets with Caiaphas, Pilate and even the Jewish zealots. Saul causes more trouble with his preaching, while others plot his death and try to bring Simon in as a conspirator. James, the brother of Jesus also visits Jerusalem to assist the disciples. Eventually, it is decided that Saul is no longer safe in Jerusalem.
“Brothers in Arms” is a bit convoluted in its timeline and takes some strange creative choices. There’s a tender scene between Saul and Tabitha, who was just flogged for her faith, that includes powerful statements taken from one of the best passages in the New Testament, Romans 8:35-39. This scene is the highlight of the episode. Otherwise, the political conflict brewing doesn’t quite have suspense and urgency needed to make it great.
