More Detail:

“The Persecution” begins after the martyrdom of Stephen. The disciples and followers of Christ grieve his death, a foreshadowing of even more persecution to come. Saul, a Pharisee, is infuriated with the disciples. Meanwhile, Caiaphas, who faces an attempt to force him out by the Sanhedrin, is under pressure from Pilate to deal with the followers of Jesus. So, Caiaphas enlists Saul to persecute the Christians to stop the movement.

“The Persecution” covers a very small portion of scripture and is primarily creative assumption and dramatic buildup. Starting off a little slow at the beginning, it sets up the great drama to come and includes a fantastic message from Peter stating that “No one comes to the father except through Jesus.” There are so powerful moments, as well as a few dull ones, but overall, “The Persecution” is a solid episode. The violence is also toned down quite a bit, which is refreshing after some brutal scenes in previous episodes.
